New Island Restaurant for lunch.

New Island is a new restaurant in the Warwick area located at 3301 Post Rd. We sent out a mailer introducing ourselves and the owner kindly reached out. She was gracious enough to offer recommendations, her first being their General Tso Chicken.

We placed a large take-out order for two General Tso Chicken combinations (with white meat) an order of Singapore Rice Noodles, Pan Fried Dumplings, Beef Teriyaki, a Large Chicken Fried Rice and 2 Wonton Soups.

There was not a single thing that we sampled today that did not impress us. New Island is doing something very special right now. They have a really nice General Tso Chicken. When we seen on their menu that they offer a cup of their General Tso sauce as a side order, We figured they believed their sauce is amazing. Indeed it is excellent.

General Tso Chicken is by far the most ordered American Chinese dish across the board. They stood out today in a big way. They prepared it with an interesting twist selecting to use Golden Fingers as the white meat substitution. Generally I don’t go for golden fingers, but this really surprised me. They did a fantastic job. Mike adds that he prefers a more traditional preparation of the white meat option, but was two thumbs up on the sauce and their Pork Fried Rice.

I enjoyed their Pork Fried Rice & Egg Roll. The Beef Teriyaki also receives higher than normal marks for the reason they glazed the beef teriyaki so nicely. The Pan Fried Dumplings added a nice touch. Feed back on the Wonton Soup was very good, full of vegetables and great flavor.

Brian had the Singapore Rice Noodles and adds:

“Let me start off by saying the reason we went to New Island today was courtesy of their owner reaching out to us in response to our mailer. They opened about two months ago, and after eating their food we would like to help get their name out there. Not to be confused with ‘The Islander’ The restaurant is nice, very traditional, very clean inside. I went with an order of the Singapore Rice Noodles for lunch, which featured chicken, shrimp, veggies and the thin rice noodles in a yellow curry sauce. Not too spicy, but enough to keep me happy, it was a solid lunch for sure. I was lucky enough to try some of the General, which was by far one of my favorites. Their sauce is outstanding, and we ordered it with white meat (obviously), which ended up being golden fingers doused with sauce. This was a polarizing move between our contributors, one that I personally loved. Definitely a Top 5 contender for best General, and we’ll have to go back soon to get another taste. Hats off to New Island, and we wish her much success with New Island, go check them out!”

We are happy for New Island. They are serving quality Chinese Food. They should be proud, We wish them great success. We would certainly recommend a visit to our readers.

Enjoy,
